Destination Highlights
Since Sarasota, with it's barrier islands, is a water wonderland, it offers all kinds of water recreation such as swimming, boating, waterskiing, and windsurfing. In addition, of course, the beaches of white powdery sand are unsurpassed. Located in the cultural center of Florida, there are numerous private galleries and the magnificent Ringling Museum of Art. They provide a showcase for both the old masters and contemporary art. This area's many golf courses offer recreation and challenge to both beginner and professional, and they are conveniently located less than 3 miles away. Sarasota also has much to offer the nature enthusiast – from beautiful orchids and rare botanical specimens at The Selby Botanical Gardens to sharks and other fascinating creatures at Mote Marine Aquarium and Marine Science Center.
Directions from Major Airport to Resort
The nearest commercial airport to the resort is the Sarasota/Bradenton Int'l Airport, 8 miles away. From the airport take U.S. 41 South (Tamiami Trail)10 miles to the intersection of Gulfstream Avenue. Turn right, go over the bridge 2 miles and you will be at St. Armand's Circle. Go half way around the circle and exit toward Lido Beach. Suntide is the third resort on the right. When traveling by car: from I-75 take exit 210 (Fruitville Rd) 10 miles to US 41 Turn left onto US 41. Turn right at the next light (1 block away) onto Gulfstream. Follow directions above.
