Destination Highlights
A short distance from this resort is the ancient Roman city of Maratea, one of the oldest in the Policastro gulf overlooking a truly unique panoramic view of Basilicata on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Here, craftsmen's workshops, stone portals, and the square bear witness to the ancient seafaring community of this land. Inland, you can take in villages like Rivello in the Noce Valley or Padula with its ancient abbey, the suggestive caves of Pertosa, and the Nature Park of Mount Pollino. If there is time, visit the Matera Rock, Metaontino ruins, Vulture and its Norman castles, and the Greek temples of Paestum.
Directions from Major Airport to Resort
BY AIR: Nearest Airport: Naples 210km or Lamezia Terme 152km. BY ROAD: From NAPLES take highway A3 South in direction of Salerno and exit at Lauria. Then follow the signs to Maratea. Follow the sign to Maratea on state road 585 and then to Maratea Sud on state road 18. Go up to Maratea village and before entering the village take the road uphill to the right and follow the signs to the Cristo Rendentore. After about 3.5 km you will find the entrance to the residence on the right. From LAMEZIA TERME (152kms) take highway A3 North (Reggio Calabria Salerno) in direction of Salerno and exit at Lagonegro Nord. Then follow the information as above. BY TRAIN: to Maratea and then taxi to the resort.
