Destination Highlights

This lakeside retreat is a short distance from a multitude of activities and cultural destinations, suitable for every traveler. Tee off at one of the scenic golf courses nearby or let the kids blow off some steam at the playground area, only one mile away. Go on a horseback-riding journey or stroll through the shopping area, both a 20-mile drive. Summertime brings water-park excitement, so fire up the engine and drive just under one hour to Volente Beach Waterpark where you can breeze through tube slides, cruise down water chutes and play a game of volleyball. History and art buffs should head to Austin where a number of noteworthy museums like The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and Austin Museum of Art are located.

Directions from Major Airport to Resort

The nearest major airport is Austin's Bergstrom International, which is 55 miles from the resort. From the airport, take Hwy 71W to Hwy 183N to FM 1431. Go West on FM 1431 for appx. 16 miles to Lago Vista. Turn left on Lohman Ford Road and go three miles and turn right on Boggy Ford Road. When you come to a "Y", take the left fork onto Highland Lakes Drive. Go for 2 miles to the stop sign. At the stop sign, turn left onto American Drive and continue to the Shores Reception Center on the left hand side with 3 flag poles and circular drive in front.
